Dental Amalgam contains about 50% Mercury, a substance demonstrated to be more toxic than Lead, Cadmium or even Arsenic.

Dental amalgams contract and expand with heat and as you eat, Mercury leakage occurs throughout the lifetime of the filling. The mercury leaves the amalgam in vapour form and this is absorbed at a rate of 80% through the lungs into the arterial blood.

If you are concerned with your current amalgam fillings give us a call and we promise we will allocate you one of our reserved appointments to quickly remove the amalgam filling and replace it for a white composite filling in the same appointment.

When we replace your dental amalgam we will only use disposable suction tools to make sure that the filling is removed and disposed of safely.
